Eastwood Blessings — Frequently Asked Questions

Eastwood Blessings — Frequently Asked Questions

1. Why choose Eastwood Blessings over other childcare centres?

Eastwood Blessings offers a premium, nurturing and family-focused environment designed so every child can flourish. We prioritise wellbeing, learning through play, and strong partnerships with families. Key highlights include:

  • Huge outdoor play area: our outdoor space is approximately 250% larger than the government-mandated minimum — giving children generous room for physical play, exploration and nature-based learning.
  • Nutrition partnership: meals are prepared daily by a world-class catering service specialising in childcare nutrition — fresh, balanced meals planned to support children’s growth.
  • Purpose-built centre: designed for safety, visibility and specialist learning spaces.
  • Experienced educators: we hire highly skilled staff who deliver warm, evidence-informed education in line with the Early Years Learning Framework.

2. What are your opening hours?

We are open Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 6:00pm, excluding public holidays. If you need early morning drop-off outside those times please contact us to discuss any occasional flexibility.

3. What is included in the daily fee?

Our daily fees cover a wide range of inclusions so families have clarity and value. Included are:

  • Fresh, nutritious meals and snacks prepared by our world-class catering partner (served daily).
  • Wipes for nappy changes and general care.
  • Regular excursions and incursions as part of our program (these are communicated in advance).
  • A welcome/gift pack supplied with enrolment: a hat, a branded t-shirt, a school bag, and a bottle.
  • An activity book (which remains at the centre during care) — this is provided to families as a keepsake at the end of the child's enrolment or the end of the year.

Note: Lakeside provides nappies; Eastwood does not provide nappies as standard (please discuss individual needs with us during enrolment).

4. Do you accept Child Care Subsidy (CCS) and other funding?

Yes — we accept the Australian Government Child Care Subsidy (CCS). We always act on behalf of families to ensure you receive all eligible subsidies and rebates, including programs such as Start Strong where applicable. If you have questions about eligibility, how to apply, or want help with the government portal, our administration team is happy to support you.

5. How can I arrange a tour or view the centre?

We warmly encourage tours so you can see the environment and meet educators. To arrange an in-person tour complete our contact form: Eastwood contact form — specify a preferred date/time and we’ll respond promptly.

If you prefer to look around virtually first, try our virtual tour here: Eastwood Virtual Tour.

6. How do you ensure safety and wellbeing?

Children’s safety and wellbeing are our highest priorities. We employ multiple measures including:

  • Purpose-built sightlines: the centre layout allows educators to view children from different angles so small changes in behaviour or risk are noticed quickly.
  • CCTV coverage: cameras are installed in public, non-private areas to monitor and support safety practices across the centre.
  • Supervision & design: equipment and furnishings are chosen to meet or exceed safety standards and our policies ensure high-quality supervision at all times.
7. What is your curriculum and educational approach?

We follow the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and deliver a play-based, inquiry-led pedagogy that supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development. Our educators design emergent learning experiences — we balance child-led exploration with intentional teaching moments to build confidence, curiosity and school-readiness.

For more on our educational philosophy, view our PDF: Eastwood Philosophy (PDF).

8. What are your educator qualifications and staff ratios?

Our educators are qualified and experienced — including Early Childhood Teachers, Diploma-qualified educators and Certificate III assistants. We maintain staffing ratios that meet and often exceed government minimums so children receive the attention and care they need. Our team participates in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practice.

9. What happens on enrolment?

When a child is enrolled at Eastwood Blessings families receive a warm welcome and practical support to settle the child in. As part of enrolment each child receives a welcome pack (hat, branded t-shirt, school bag and bottle) and we keep a centre activity book for each child — this activity book stays at the centre during care and is gifted to families at the end of the child's enrolment or at the end of the year.

10. What annual celebrations and events do you hold?

We run an annual calendar of celebrations that includes centre milestone events, cultural celebrations and special family days. We prioritise culturally important dates so every family feels represented and welcome. View our calendar: Eastwood Annual Events (PDF).
